Responsible Resource Management

Responsible Resource Management (RRM) expresses the new direction of the Canadian Model Forest Network (CMFN). While the forest sector still remains a central component of the CMFN, it is expanding its scope to include other Canadian natural resource sectors.

Building on the CMFN’s multi-stakeholder approach, RRM envisions collaborative land management at the local level. This means that industry, government, communities and other stakeholders from various natural resource sectors work together to achieve mutual goals. The CMFN is currently engaging new partners in forestry, energy, mining, oil & gas, fisheries and agriculture, to work towards achieving its vision.
