Who We Are

The Canadian Model Forest Network (CMFN) represents Model Forest organizations nationally. We create a place where diverse forest interests can meet. Across Canada, we involve over 500 organizations and 200 communities. These people are from: aboriginal and non-aboriginal communities, industry (forestry and other land uses), government (municipal, provincial, and federal), non-government organizations, schools (elementary to university), and researchers. This allows us to openly discuss a range of topics. These are important issues to the forest and the community who depends on it.

With input from a range of interests, the CMFN collects information and knowledge. With this, we create tools for forest communities. These are used to overcome their challenges. This helps support and maintains the livelihoods of people living in Canadian forests. By working together, we can develop valuable information, to share both in Canada and around the world.
