CCFM:

Canadian Council of Forest Ministers

Criterion
(plural: Criteria):

Distinguishable characteristic of sustainable forest management that reflects the values of Canadians and identifies the forest features they want to sustain or enhance.

C&I:

Criteria and indicators

Element:

A grouping of indicators pertaining to related matters within a criterion.

Indicator:

A quantitative or qualitative measure that is capable of showing the status and/or direction of change.

Local:

Of or relating to communities of people defined by the boundaries of some form of local government.

SFM:

Sustainable Forest Management

Sustainable Forest Management:

Management to maintain and enhance the long-term health of forest ecosystems while providing ecological, economic, social and cultural opportunities for the benefit of present and future generations.
