Communities

Forests are more than just trees – millions of people across Canada live in communities that are forest-dependent or that are simply surrounded by forests. Encouraging dialogue between diverse organizations at the local level is key to forest management that is responsive to the needs of communities. This dialogue not only promotes development of solutions to local challenges, but it encourages new and innovative “on the ground” approaches from the people who know a region best.
